"This came highly recommended by the clerk at the store. Decided to go with the waterborne based stain. Looked good for the first week. Then started to wear. One year later, it is pealing and flaking off exposing the unstained wood below. Applied another coat at eh 1 yr date. we are now at year 2. same as before, flaking off. This product does not penetrate the wood. it is just a paint. Now I have a terrible looking deck that I will have to "paint" to get to look better, or strip and sand. Don't by this type "Stain"."

"My deck is 20 years old and still looks great because of this product. I used others(highly rated) for the first 8 years and had to treat it every year. With DeckScapes I get two years and even then it still looks great. Don't try two coats the same year...do it right the first coat...take your time and apply the product profusely....work it into the wood. Power wash your deck and let it dry 3-4 weeks before applying product. I wasted my money on three other coatings before I found this product. I am just glad I had a power washer to remove the inferior products I used first. BTW-the other products disappeared with power washing. DeckScapes stays right there and just the dirt and mold disappear."

"This stain doesn't even last through a season. Had to do a 2nd coat, but the wood had already been waterproofed with the first coat. The stain separated and we could not finish the deck this year. Called the store and was told it had to be applied within 24 hours.
Don't waste your money."

"I put this product on a deck in July and it is completely faded off in some spots and the horizontal surfaces look very weathered. I would highly advise anyone that expects to get over a year out of a stain to pass on this product.
There is a seperate review on youtube called sherwin williams premium stain that demonstrates nearly the exact results I had. Be warned"

"I've been using DeckScapes on my deck for 8 years. It's now the same color as the siding on my home. It layers and covers beautifully. It goes on easily. It has lasted much longer - by appearance - than the other stuff I've used. And the wood seems to love it.
