" We spent months doing a kitchen remodel, doing most of the work ourselves except for the painting of the new cabinets which we wanted professionally sprayed. An experienced painter recommended Sherwin Williams Pro Industrial Water Based Alkyd Urethane as his favorite for kitchen cabinets. Looking at reviews, I shared with him that I was concerned that one had mentioned unacceptable drying times and adhesion issues. He advised that, in his experience, it took 3 weeks for the paint to properly cure and after that it was "bullet proof."
It’s now been 8 weeks since the painting was completed, it's not cured and it's far from "bullet proof". At this point, it has zero ability to resist even the most minor impacts e.g., touching the cabinet edge with a dinner plate will remove the paint. And, most concerning, wiping the surface with a water dampened sponge results in a paint color transfer to the sponge.
While touching up small dings isn’t an issue, not being able to wipe the surface clean with a sponge and plain tap water without pulling up paint color is a show stopper. I’ve done exterior/interior brush and roller painting for more than 40 years with many different types of oil and water based paints and I’ve never seen one react in this manner 8 weeks after application.
At this juncture, I'm very unimpressed with this paint. If for some reason it magically turns "bullet proof" over the next few months, I'll amend this review. "
