" Unlike standard shellac primer that is alcohol based, this product is oil based. This means you cannot clean your brush with ammonia solution like when you are working with true shellac primer, You need to be set up fully to work with an oil based paint. The product name may give an impression that it is a shellac substitute (and the store person actually told me wrongly that it is alcohol based), but is misleading from the point of using the product.
