" I recently moved into my house and it needed some serious updating. The kitchen and dining room walls were orange; two tones of bright orange with yellow molding and baseboards. My boyfriend & I couldn't buy paint fast enough! We have both done smaller paint jobs but this room is quite large. My mother recommended HGTV Ovation paint & we bought Latte for the master bed room and Natural Tan & Anchors Away (accent wall) for the dining & kitchen rooms. The master room was a light dull sea-foam green. We applied two coats of Latte directly on top of the green and it covered beautifully. You could actually watch the paint do its magic, blending to cover the green, as it was drying. After priming the entire kitchen & dining room (ceiling also, as it too was bright orange, YUCK) we applied Natural Tan to all but one wall. Two coats later it was BEAUTIFUL. Did I mention that not only were the walls & ceiling previously orange, but they were also highly textured, reminding me of stucco? (We chose eggshell finish to help minimize the appearance of texture, however we are more drawn to it now that it is a desirable color.) This paint covered the texture so well; it rolled on smoothly and dried evenly. A few hours between coats with lots of fans & heavy air movement, and our kitchen & dining appeared much brighter and more modern. I finished the following morning with Anchors Away as an accent wall in the dining room. I was hesitant as the navy paint was a much thinner consistency than that of Natural Tan & Latte. The first coat went on well but covered sparsely; but after drying time and a second coat, the navy looked absolutely beautiful next to the Natural Tan! It dried so evenly; I was very nervous about potential streaking from a roller with the color being so dark and the paint being thinner, but it dried perfect! The paints were both very true to the swatch colors we picked out in the store. My kitchen now looks more modern and updated, very clean looking and spacious. The dining room looks formal yet inviting, and while the Natural Tan has a bit of a cool tone, it is still warm enough with our light oak wood we have. I have a dark dining table and it all flows together wonderfully. I can't say enough good things about this paint; Ovation will be the only paint my boyfriend & I use from here on out as we continue to give our home a little "face lift." Being somewhat of a less experienced painter & having used it on two completely different textures, we were so impressed with how easy it was to use & how beautifully it covered.
